Dayue or Great Yue, officially the Republic of Dayue, is a country on the north shore of the South China Sea. It extends from South China down to the central coast of Vietnam. Dayue is a diverse nation but also one that has a strong national identity, separate from Mandarin up north. Covering an area of 995.229 km2 and boasting a very large population of more than 338 million, Dayue is a key player in both Southeast and East Asia. With a strong economy traditionally based on trade and major industries developed over the last one and a half century, Dayue has since grown into a service-based economy backed by an advanced technological sector and a large labor pool that supports it.
