You do know Antarctica doesn’t have a permanent population nor any currently extractable resources, in theory it would be possibly to start removing the ice in search of resources but most other nations on this forum has shown that such an action it’s likely to face resistance from others as they are intent on protecting the Antarctic enviroment.

Very Interesting idea though! As far as I am aware (not an admin) you shouldn’t have a problem getting approved, idk how your Factbook would look though recognizing what I said previously.

There's no issues with making a claim in Antarctica. As it is alternate history, I will allow a small population of up to 25,000. There is some oil off shore, but exact amounts aren't proven as there hasn't been any exploration irl.
