Early one morning, shortly after opening hours, the @California Republic embassy in Nanjing would be visited by a well dressed Chinese man in a suit. He would introduce himself as Mr. Mo Fu, the assistant to the Chief Steward of Foreign Relations, Ren Yahui. He would request to speak with the Californian ambassador regarding a source of information that may be of interest to the Californians.
