Commonwealth of New England
The Commonwealth of New England, commonly referred to as simply New England or its abbreviation NE, is a Federal Republic located in northeastern North America. New England is comprised of 14 States as well as one Federal City, New York City which serves as the nation's capital as well as its most populous city. New England is one of the most developed nations in the world with high measured rates of total wealth, GDP, GDP per Capita, average income, and development. New England also comprises some of the densest populated areas of North America.
New England's government is a Federal Republic and a liberal democracy, with a devolution of powers to each state. The government has three branches; the Executive headed by the President and their cabinet, the bicameral legislature of the Senate and the National Assembly, and the Judiciary headed by the Supreme Court of New England. Politically, New England is a tripartite system with three major political parties, the Democrats, Republicans, and Progressives.
