In light of the recent Atomic subjugation/liberation of Alberta (depending on who you ask), the President of Cascadia has decided to increase the size of the military in order to better defend the nation against potential future threats. The navy, airforce, and ground force will all be expanded.

In the Pacific, in light of recent Japanese - Californian training exercises in the vicinity, the Governor of the Marshall Islands sends a small military fleet to Midway Atoll to reassert their sovereignty over the island.

Weary of the impending Qi - Qing conflict, many of the Chinese minor states mobilize a portion of their forces to help patrol their borders. All of them issue (or reissue) statements of their neutrality with regards to the coming conflict.

In East India the President of West Bengal has begun discussing the idea of hosting a referendum to join the People's Republic of Bangladesh. This would expand the reach of communism in India, with many experts predicting a domino effect on the other capitalist states in India. Rumours are circulating that the referendum is sponsored by the communists. Support in West Bengal is split, with many hoping for the reunification of Bangladesh.

Following recent nuclear attacks in North America, many minor nations around the world have announced their intentions to join the Forum of Nations in an effort to seek protection from nuclear powers, including the Californian Republic and Confederacy.

Representatives of minor nations in North America are meeting Seattle to discuss the current situation in the Confederacy, and the recent uses of nuclear weapons by both the Californians and the Confederates. This meeting is rumoured to be regarding a defensive and economic pact between various nations, with several discussing putting aside their ideological differences in favour of protecting their borders.

South Africa and Rhodesia have both passed laws loosening apartheid regulations in both countries, in light of the war against the confederacy and the actions of the Californians against the Confederacy. Further, Mandela is set to be given a retrial in Pretoria in the near future. This trial will take place with a significant security presence at a yet to be determined location. Both leaders are set to meet in Dhaka in the near future to discuss unification plans. Several South American nations have gathered for a meeting in Lima to discuss the plight of the Argentinian puppet states, and the worrying shift towards monarchism in South America.
